The Future comes in many different forms.

From large cityscapes, to the southern outskirts, the stories in each the vignettes show characters of different ages as they live their lives. Chemists, enhanced humans, star crossed lovers, and warriors all appear in their truest moments.

One undeniable thing I can say is that I truly fell in love with this series, all because of what it did for me. This series made me ask and question what I saw in the future if limits didn’t exist. During a year where it felt like it was uncertain, there was a bit of comfort in creating a new world. Good old escapism. It felt like making those old Victorian images scholars would make imagining what flight would look for humans. 

What made it special for me is making it exclusively fitting for the black experience. Now one could assume many things reading that, but any experience that includes people of Afro decent, also shares the black experience. 

What I wanted to show were new stories that were still grounded in spirituality and earthly elements. 

Magical realism was one story genre that had a hold on me when making a handful of the pieces. To me blending a bit of magic into futuristic tools has always sounded very cool, whether it be through armour, life forms, enhancements, etc. So I went with where my curiosity and imagination led me.
